Data Logger - Gigalog-E+F - max. 2GB Memory
GigaLog-F is a 16 bit data logger for up to 2 Gbytes of data using CompactFlash memory cards. With GigaLog any embedded system can log its data easily, for a very long period, and readable by a PC. GigaLog automatically recognizes Compact Flash memory cards, their size, formats the disk, creates a Msdos compatible file system, and creates files to store the data into it. When switching power on, or changing the memory card, new data will be appended to the files. Stored data can be read on a PC using a simple CompactFlash adapter. The memory card appears as a removable disk to the PC. All data from the Rs232 is in a single file, analog data in another file on the disk.
Storing data from analog or digital inputs
Gigalog E has 8 inputs. Gigalog F has 16 inputs. Each input can be configured as analog, digital, or counter. Gigalog samples these inputs regularly and stores them on the disk into a file.
Storing incoming data from Rs232
All data coming in from the serial Rs232 interface will be stored on the disk in a file. A data frame from the Rs232 is any consecutive data until there is a gap of at least 0.5 seconds. GigaLog can
be configured to add a time stamp (yyyy:mm:dd hh:mm:ss) in front and/or at the end of a data frame.
Remote Control (Gigalog F)
GigaLog F can be completely controlled by a modem: Verify state, change configuration, disk handling, upload logged data. Each input has a min and a max threshold. When the input violates a
threshold, an alarm occurs. An alarm may toggle a relay, write a message into a disk file, call a centre using a phone, or send an SMS, using a GSM modem. You may define a command macro, that calls a
centre, or sends an SMS each hour, day, or once a week.
GigaTerm + GigaData
With the two ready-to-work applications Gigalog can be controled without any programming work and the stored data can be shown directly with
GigaData or transfered to other programms.
Gigalog-OEM Board
GigaLog-E+F are available as boards or in a housing to be mounted on a DIN rail. GigaLog-E+F also includes all tools to write your own firmware: C compiler, debugger, firmware source and documentation.
GigaLog completely programmable in C
To customise the board, you may write your own firmware in C, and download it into GigaLog. Delivered with the board: IDE under Windows, C compiler, library for the board, debugger, firmware
