U111-M USB adapter box supports SRAM, ATA and Linear Flash memory cards

USB adapters for CF memory cards are widely available, but there are very few models around that support full size PCMCIA. The U111-M is perfect for applications where PCMCIA cards are still being used, and the host PC no longer has PCMCIA connectivity. The U111-M supports ATA memory, SRAM memory, and Linear Flash cards which support the Common Flash Memory Interface (CFI). No driver installation is normally required. Please note the U111-M supports only the listed memory cards. It don't supports any other PCMCIA cards !

Technical Features:

  • 16-Bit PCMCIA Cards supported
  • USB Interface (USB1.1 and USB2.0 compatible)
  • Supports TypeI and II card sizes.  Slot has ejector lever
  • so works with Compact Flash cards and SD cards using suitable adapters, available separately
  • Uses a low power high performance micro controller to convert the USB protocol to PCMCIA card read/write access.
  • Card is powered from the USB slot (second USB power connection available for low power hosts).
  • 16-bit memory cards supported : SRAM, ATA and Linear Flash cards supporting Common Flash Memory Interface (CFI).
  • USB mass storage device class natively supported by Windows (98+NUSB, ME, 2000, XP, VISTA, WINDOWS 7 32-bit, WINDOWS 7 64-bit), MacOSX and LINUX. Commonly available disk utilities allow direct access to memory (CFI compliant Linear Flash)

The unique U111 and the U111-M are designed to support PCMCIA cards such as memory cards, networking cards, including UMTS cards and GSM wireless modems, through a USB connection. To work with the Sierra Wireless AirCards you need the latest U111 driver which you can download HERE !  -  Using the U111 in Windows Vista !

 

The U111 is the only solution available to OEMs and integrators who need to support a PCMCIA product and have only a USB connection available. Elan can adapt the U111 hardware and produce custom software to support the required PC card.

 

The included Windows 2000/XP driver is also working on the new Apple Mac's with Intel Processors !

U111-530/630: Supports the Novatel Wireless Merlin 530/630 PCMCIA 3G/UMTS Cards and the Sierra Wireless Aircards. These cards are offered by many mobile phone operators world-wide like Vodafone Germany, O2 (UK, Ireland, Poland, Germany, Asia), Hutchison, PTC, Optimus, Orange and more.

This USB adapter allows the use of the new 3G and "HSDPA" high speed data cards from "OPTION" via a USB port enabling these PC cards to be used with a desktop or laptop without a CardBus slot.

 

The U142 is ideal for customers who live in an area without high speed wired internet access, or whose laptop does not offer a PCMCIA/CardBus slot, such as the new Dell latitude X1 models. The adapter is compatible with desktops, notebooks or specialist systems (such as Point of Sale machines).

 

The U142 will only work with a specific range of Options wireless data cards so please check below for the list of currently supported cards. This will be updated as and when support for additional cards is added.

Please note that the unique hardware design of the U142 has been developed especially for this type of wireless modems, so other card types are not supported. The U142 does not support memory cards.
